Here is mine

Questions from  jackiesjunkie
1. Top 5 music artists.
2. What song do you associate with me?
3. What is your favorite cartoon character?
4. What is the last book you read for pleasure?
5. What color are your eyes?

I meant to expand on these answers earlier but I forgot so I am doing it now.

1. Fuck that is a hard one.

1. Nirvana. That one was the easiest choice. They will always be number one on my list of favorite bands. It is hard for me to imagine with all the music I listen to now that I use to not listen to music except for Patsy Cline. But for the longest time I did not listen to the radio because of the stuff they played was boring and made me want to go to sleep. One day I was riding with my sister and she turned it to I 95.5, which use to be the only Rock station in this area and they play mostly old rock. Every now and then they would play a song for the early 90's and I just so happened to catch the last half of a Nirvana song. Time went buy and I learned who the band was and started to collect their work. I think what makes me love this band so much is that I got in to them around fifth grade and that was a time period in my life that I was on my own friend wise. I had just moved to a new school so I did not know any of the kids so I was friendless which was not a change from my old school, I just had a reason why now. But I could and still can relate to a lot of their songs.

2. Evanescence.  What first drew me to this band was Amy Lee's vocals and also the fact that she happened to be female. There are not a large amount of females in rack music and it is kind of sad. But the voice that Amy Lee has the sorrowful lyrics that she sings just get to me. I mean it is impossible for me to listen to Hello with out getting chocked up. She just puts so much emotion in to each word she sings. Even before I knew what the song was about I could tell that their was so much sadness in that song and when I found out it was about the death of her little sister it made since to me then. Such a talented women, hard to believe he wrote that song when she was 19.

3. theSTART. Another female fronted rock band that I love. Sadly they have not gained as much popularity as they deserve. They were one of the first bands of what is commonly called the new New Wave. If you were old enough to remember, or you just know what New Waves then you know what the kind of sound like. But new wave was a dancy Rock music, bands like the Talking Heads and Blondie were considered New Wave artist in the 80's.  They are a great mix of electronic and rock, and it is very refreshing to here a band that builds off of a style of music but does not sound like all the bands that came before them.

4. Scissor Sisters.
One song Return to Oz. I had listened to a few of their songs and liked them but when I heard Return to Oz I was hooked. It was so different from every song on their album. It was the only song on their first album that was not an uplifting song. The music, the lyrics, everything about it is just so sad. And when you get to the end of the song none of the parts go with each other. The piano, guitar, and drums are all playing different parts that do not really go together. Do not misunderstand me it sounds great but the parts just do not fit together, When ever I listen to the song it always leaves me with a feeling of sadness and hopelessness which I think the message of the song is. So it does its job very well.

5. Stolen Babies. Great band that I just happened to find by accident. They are a hard rock but they sound like not other band out there now or before them and I love that about the band. It is nice to see a band playing music that is creative and does not sound like all of the other bands out there.

2. My Chemical Romace, Teenagers because they scare the living shit out of me.

3. Lisa Simpson. She is smart, a vegatarian, and a Buddist. The coolest second grader ever.

4. Alice in Wonderland. I won those (the sequel too) at a costume contest a year ago and I kept puttinh off reading them. So when I finally had time this summer I read the first one.

5. Blue most of the time. I tend to get shades of green, gray, and yellow in there at times.

That is one of my favorite lines from all of Oz.

1. What was the inspiration/meaning behind your LJ name?

2. If you could only read on book for the rest of your life what would it be?

3. How did you get in to the Oz fandom?

4. If you could do anything for a living and not have to worry about it paying the bills what would it be?

5. IS there any place outside of the United States that you would want to live?
