That's so weird, because my neighbor is playing that CD right now... I can hear it really clearly, so I'm gonna wait until he stops playing it all the time before buying it.
At least we have the same taste in music. It would suck if he played shitty stuff...
I freaking love this band. I saw them on VH1's band reunited and have been digging them since. Their first two albums and a basically a best of are the three I got.
Sadly my neighbors have bad taste in music but they rarely ever play it loud.
My neighbor has excellent taste in music, but at the rate he's going, he's due for a hearing aid soon. The other day I was coming home and he had 'Mad World' blasting, so I just sat on the steps until it was over. I tried knocking on the door to say hi... but he couldn't hear me!
It was the cover-- I actually like that one better myself, though I do like TfF in general.
Lately-- when my neighbor's not home-- I've been playing a lot of older music. Like RHCP 'Under the Bridge'... I've got so much music that I forget what I have sometimes. Time to dust off the things I haven't listened to lately.
The orginal is good but the Gary Giles version has more emotion to it. It kills me every time I watch Donnie Darko.
My musical taste tend to come in cycles. I have times when I want to listen to nothing but singer/songwriters like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Tracy Chapman, K T Tunstall etc... then I go to like a polar extreme and listen to bands like Otep, Slipknot, Coal Chamber, KoRn etc...
I totally get that... my music collection is nothing if not eclectic. It's not unusual for me to go from Nina Simone to Warren Zevon in an afternoon.
For some reason, the soundtrack from 'Magnolia'-- which is mostly Aimee Mann-- is good writing inspiration for me. Her cover of 'One' is, I think, better than the Nilsson original.
My muses are assholes and don't like to stick to a single artist. The last thing that brought them out was The Dresden Dolls but that isn't working this time. Apocalyptica is working but not for the stories I am working on right now. I am not at a very angry or a break up yet.
I have so many works in progress it isn't funny. I think there is like 5 different B/K stories that need me attention and two B/S one's that have been yelling at me to pay attention to them.
My internet connection has been fucked up, so if I don't reply right away, that's the reason. It takes forever to get anything accomplished in New Orleans, unless it's a drive-by shooting. So it may take a few more days before I can get anyone to look at the damn computer.
You'd think I'd get more writing done, but I just walk by the computer, glare at it and mutter "whore!" under my breath.
But I have been reading some stuff that's inspiring me.
I have a few ideas but I've been to lazy to get them from my head to the computer. That and I accidentally combined my two Oz/SVU stories. That is what I get for putting Beecher in the hospital in both of them.

(I worked on three different stories...)
All WIPs... dammit.

I know, though... it would be great if you could just think out a story and the computer would automatically write it out.
I think Stephen King wrote something about that, but he went waaay downhill years ago, IMO.
Speaking Steven King have you seen the Family Guy episode where they make fun of him?
I hope they rerun it.
I'm in total denial about Season 666.
