I felt like sharing a sing with you guys. I cannot recall if I have posted about him before but it never hurts to post again. His name is Matthew Luke Sandoval and he has done a good amount of covers on youtube and a few of them are Tori Amos songs. I tend to be a little judgemental when it comes to her covers. It is just ingraned in my head that the songs are supposed to sound a certain way and when I see someone who has posted a cover I tend to judge it before I even listen. Bad I know but I cannot help it. But I have to admit even going in to his covers with I bias I still ended up really liking it. I did not want to but he did a great job on all of the ones I listen to. I really hope he continues with his singing and starts to write his own material. I would love to have an album of orginal songs by him. Here are two of my faovrite Tori covers by him.

Precious Things

I know that badtyler</lj>had been having trouble with youtube on here. So here is the link for badtyler</lj>and any of you other guys who may be having the same problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llHbPSOq6CU

Leather. I have to say this is my second favorite cover of this song. It is oonly topped by B. D. Wong's cover from Oz. And that is only my favorite because having a priest singing Leather is fucking prieceless.

And the link for those who cannot see the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EqA3XCmrx4

You're the best, for putting up that link! Not as good as Tori, but still well worth listening to... ah, 'Leather'... yeah, BD Wong does a hell of a job with that. One of my all-time faves.

I may have to go and play it now. Or make a new icon.

Thanks again. You're a good friend. Cookies and 'Leather' and YouTube, oh my!

No problem. I figured if only one person on my flist watched it there would be a good chance that you would so I figured I would just take the time to include the link to make it just a bit quicker for ya.

If I had a dollar for every time I've seen that, I could retire today.

Thanks again.

Wouldn't that just kick some major ass? I wish people would give me a dollar when that happens.
Sep. 21st, 2008 05:20 pm (UTC)
I would be sooo rich.
Sep. 21st, 2008 05:35 pm (UTC)
That would be the awesome. And you know what I think the world owes us with the crap we put up with.
Sep. 21st, 2008 10:18 pm (UTC)
No joke. And WE would use the money for good, not evil.

(I'm laughing as I type this, BTW.)
Sep. 22nd, 2008 12:59 am (UTC)
It all depends on what your definition of evil is. I am sure there are a few things that I would do that would be helping mankind out that people might think are bad.
Sep. 22nd, 2008 01:22 am (UTC)
Good point. But those people are the morons, so... and we'd have the POWER!

I may be carried away on this idea... tomorrow I'll be out on the street with a sign saying 'I will listen to BD Wong sing 'Leather' for money!'
Sep. 22nd, 2008 04:08 am (UTC)
I like that idea. I wonder if people would pay me to insult them?
Sep. 22nd, 2008 04:39 am (UTC)
Hells yeah. Come on down to New Orleans for a few days. This town is FULL of masochists...
Sep. 23rd, 2008 04:15 pm (UTC)
Ah hell yeah. Road trip! It has been a while I have had one of those.
Sep. 23rd, 2008 05:24 pm (UTC)
The weather is just starting to get really nice now, too.
I just got back from a walk to the PO-- (We don't have mailboxes... they got LOOTED after Katrina and the US Postal Service won't give us new ones. Asshats.)-- and I didn't even sweat at all.
But now the tourists are coming, since there's not much left of hurricane season.

C'mon, people... let me just walk by and THEN you can take your damn pictures!

And there's a bar/strip club called Oz about five minutes away.

We had really weird weather today. You know the kind of weather where it is a little cold but if you stand in the sun to long you get hot. I hate this time of the year. When it is in the in between stage. Just get cold damn it and stay that way.
Sep. 24th, 2008 02:59 pm (UTC)
We get days like that, too. Except it never actually gets seriously cold, except for Jan. and Feb. And Mardi Gras is early again this year, damn it. Brrr.
Sep. 25th, 2008 06:10 am (UTC)
I love the cold we just do not get enough of is here in the south for me. When I was in New York in March I was in fuckign heaven with the weather.
Sep. 25th, 2008 02:37 pm (UTC)
When I was in NY my ex kept bitching about the heat bill, so I was fucking BLUE from the cold.

Blue is not my color.
Sep. 25th, 2008 05:17 pm (UTC)
I could definitly she where that would have gotten old real fast. Both the cold and the bitching.
Sep. 25th, 2008 06:24 pm (UTC)
That's why I'm here and not there. Too expensive, anyway, on one pitiful salary. NOLA's a lot cheaper.
Sep. 25th, 2008 07:43 pm (UTC)
I want to be there really badly. I just feel so at home there. I enjoy Savannah but I really love the big cities. New York is my unofficial home away from home.
Sep. 25th, 2008 11:23 pm (UTC)
I do find myself getting homesick for things sometimes...
Sep. 26th, 2008 08:58 pm (UTC)
I've never really got homesick. I love my family but we do best when we are not together for long periods of time.
Sep. 26th, 2008 10:11 pm (UTC)
Oh, no... not family homesick!

I miss the Sunday NY Times NOT costing me extra money.
I miss GOOD bagels.
I miss dim sum.
I could go on, but you get the idea.

My family-- what's left of it-- is spread out all over the world, so we don't get together often! Lots of e-mail, though.
Sep. 27th, 2008 08:59 pm (UTC)
There really is not a whole lot of things that I would miss from here except for the food maybe but then again being a vegetarian kind of reduces your options and you tend to get better choices in big cities.
Sep. 27th, 2008 11:36 pm (UTC)
God... this is no place for a vegetarian!
Although... I have seen more options lately.
Oct. 5th, 2008 05:32 pm (UTC)
Yeah it is the same here. There are a few hippie restaurants that have a good selection for me but not many places.
Oct. 6th, 2008 04:40 am (UTC)
Here you really have to go to the part of town where most of the schools are. All the tourists in the Quarter just want to clog their arteries with fried... everything.

We do get really good vegetables, though. And there's a good Thai place with a lot of meatless things on the menu, plus it's cheap.
