Dorking out.

I went to Barnes and Nobles today and I had a major geekgasam. I was in the music/DVD section and I saw that they had a huge collection of British TV Shows. The first thing I checked out was the Dr, Who stuff. They had almost three rows of Dr. Who DVDs. If I were a big fan of the show I probably would have busted a nut then and there. I walked around for a bit and then it hit me that French and Sanders was a British show and that they might have some of the DVD's and they did and then it hit me. I was shocked that it took so long. I needed to look for Absolutely Fabulous. It is only one of the greatest shows that have even been on Television and it is British. I was in heaven when I saw five series or it, I still have not figured out why the Brits call a season a series. It was a good thing that I had already been to the bank and deposited most of my paycheck because I would have blown most of it then and there. Who needs to eat when you have Ab Fab to watch?

Two Fridays ago:

The same Friday that I got these lovely bruises from donating blood I saw X-Men Origins. I had planned to go on a hearse tour, which we still did, with a few friends. Since I had agreed to donate blood that day I was in Savannah at 1 and the tour was not until 10. I did not feel like spending all day by myself and since JC was on his way to Savannah from Baxley and Michael had to work until five I called Ernesto. We decided to go see a movie and X-Men fit in to our time frame so we choose it. I know that like every comic dork like Wolverine but to be honest I am not that big of a fan of his. I still wanted to see the movie but I have never really cared that much about Wolverine, give me a Storm centric movie and it will be a whole different story. I mainly wanted to see the movie because it was an X-Men movie. The movie was awesome but the geeking out came later on during dinner. After the four of us meet up we went out to eat. We had two other friends meet us at Mellow Mushroom, one of the best restaurants ever. We ended up talking a little bit about the movie and I led my friend Erica on a crash course on the X-Men universe. I ended up talking about Omega Level Mutants/potential Omega levels. Then I talked about the Day of M story line, the story line involves Scarlet Witch warping her reality after she loses her child and when it is broken the number of mutants in the Marvel world has been reduced to 198 now called The 198, and since Jubilee lost her powers how she wasn’t one. There was a story line in Jubilee’s past where she was told by Emma Frost that she was the one of the most powerful mutants she had ever meet. She said that Jubilee had the untapped potential to effect mater on a subatomic level, meaning she could make fusions bombs. But she lost her powers so she is not an Omega. I also ended talking about how in the second movie when Wolverine got shot in the head that it would not happened like that. In the movie Logan is shot and the bullet goes in to his head and then it gets pushed out because of his mutant healing power. But Logan’s entire skeleton, which includes his skull, is covered in Adamantium. In the Marvel universe Adamantium is the strongest metal that means there is now way that the bullet would have made it past Logan’s forehead. This also led in to us talking about the three X-Men movies and me complaining about how the treated Lady Deathstrike’s character in the second movie. Erica ended up laughing at me and saying that I was letting my dork side out.
